Solidarity collection of toys for Caritas Mallorca

Thanks to the donation of many families from the school, we have delivered a large quantity of toys to Cáritas Mallorca.

A group of parent volunteers have come to Infantil with their cars to load all the toys that we have collected, which were not few!

Then they were taken to the occupational reintegration workshop that Cáritas Mallorca has in Son Cladera. Some volunteers were waiting there who, very kindly, helped to unload all the toys from the cars.

One of those in charge of the workshop gave them a guided tour of the facilities and explained how the process of the toys that arrive there every day is like.

First the unloading area, where large donations like ours arrive. The selection is made right there, depending on the type of toy it is and its material, whether they are puzzles, stuffed animals, dolls, technological toys ... and they are placed in the different rooms or shelves.

The first workshop is where they make custom boxes for each of the toys that will later be on sale in the stores that Caritas has throughout the island.

All toys go through an exhaustive washing process where they are left as good as new and, in addition, they make sure that they are complete and with all their parts.

There are wood and technology workshops, where the toys that do not work and cannot be fixed, go to the scrapping workshop where a volunteer disassembles them and groups them for materials to be recycled.

All the managers and volunteers who work there do a great job to give a second life to many toys.

We have loved the visit to the Caritas workshop facilities, we hope to collaborate with them again very soon.
