Innovation in mathematics

This year we've taken a significant step forward in teaching mathematics at our school. Following teacher training, we've incorporated Innovamat into our Early Years and first years of Primary Education, a methodology that transforms how children approach mathematical thinking.

Far from rote memorization or early memorization, Innovamat encourages students to understand before they learn. They manipulate materials, explore real-world situations, formulate hypotheses, make mistakes, and try again. In this way, learning is built from experience, not just from theory.

In preschool, mathematics appears in games, stories, challenges, and materials that encourage classifying, counting, comparing, and predicting. In the early years of primary school, children begin to structure their thinking, discovering their own strategies for solving problems and explaining how they arrived at their conclusions. The classroom becomes a small laboratory of ideas.

This new methodology not only develops solid mathematical skills but also key abilities such as communication, attention, creativity, and confidence in the face of challenges. Because learning mathematics is not just about learning numbers: it's about learning to think.
