1st ESO students do an experimental archeology project

They learn Neolithic techniques

Within the field of project work, 1st year ESO students have developed a ceramic activity in the context of the theme of Prehistory. Framed within the competence of "consciousness and cultural expressions" and through a basic approach to experimental archeology, the students have reproduced ceramic elements with the same Neolithic techniques, even making cardial ceramics through the use of sea shells. Some student even, linking with the theme of the first civilizations and writing, has produced a tablet with cuneiform writing.

Through this type of project, students are able to respond to complex questions about the origin of the first civilizations through activities based on experience and creativity. In this way, a high cognitive level is favored that enhances their ability to know, understand, justify and reason from the perspective of critical thinking. Soon we will have more news about this project and the next activity: metallurgy, in coordination with the Department of Prehistory of the UIB.
