Citric november

Another new departure

The morning cold, as it is due to the dates in which we are, has been the first opponent to beat in the third outing of the 21/22 collegiate cycling group. On this occasion, five brave men attend the convocation that once again chooses the Secar de la Real roundabout as a meeting point.

With the rump well aligned, our school is left to one side towards Santa María. We all roll at a happy pace to warm up quickly. The conversation also helps to distract mind and spirit from the icy awakening of cycling Saturday.

The speed is increasing, as other cyclists come to meet us. Some join our group. After a week of rains we are like snails, despite the fact that the sun's rays of the day are rather shy.

Without realizing it, we reached the first tack on the route, known in cycling slang as Sa Llimonera. Some seek it without success. The almost three kms of ascent should be called that because they squeeze like a lemon, not because there is a citrus plantation on the way to Sineu.

The town of Lloret announces the proximity of the "berenade" in Pina. With the entire church square for us, the necessary forces are replenished for a return that is predicted to be very windy.

Aeolus with the best impertinence of him no longer separates from the group until the end of the route. The ascent to Galdent from Algaida gives us a slight respite due to the mountainous shelter, but once the landscape is clear, the continuous whipping of the wind forces us to do relays and to dose the wear of some legs that have already been eighty kilometers of route.

Leaving Llucmajor on the left, safe roads with little traffic such as the Romanina Watchtower and the Sa Torre one end the day before reaching the madding crowd of the touristy Playa de Palma and the city.

We said goodbye tired and satisfied after exceeding a hundred kilometers. We add one more story of the Aixa -Llaüt cycling group that celebrates more than a year of shared experiences.
