Llaüt students in court

1st and 2nd ESO students have been fully involved in two court cases. They will have to put their English skills to the test to be successful.

Everything indicates that Roger King has been assassinated by a famous gangster named Christian Andrietti. The prosecutor must collect evidence and prepare his witnesses to prove beyond any reasonable doubt, the guilt of this ruthless murderer to prevent him from remaining at large.

On his part, the defense will have to prepare his arguments to try to exonerate his client.

The judge is prepared and knows well the procedures and regulations to direct the hearings. The evidence has been delivered within the stipulated time and the judge is about to take control of the classroom by regulating the interventions of the lawyers and their witnesses.

Of course, all of the above is carried out entirely in English, with the exception of some occasional translation for a clueless member of the jury.

After a hard crossing of accusations and exhausting examination of the evidence, the judge asks the jury to deliberate and after hearing its verdict, applies the pertinent sentence.

This is the case that was staged in the 1st ESO classes last week, as was the case of Michael Clayton in relation to bioethics in 2nd ESO.

These Role Play activities enhance oral expression in English within the framework of the subject. At school we see the need to offer students contexts for short immersions where they must use English instead of just studying it.
